Making a Small Agency Big

Project Type: Responsive Web

Clients who’ve worked with me for a while know I’m not afraid of color: bold, bright feature blocks that pull the eye to a key message, a case study, an infographic.

In this project, a small interactive agency with few case studies to feature, I jumped right in with both feet and turned up the chroma to 11.

Working closely with a copywriter (she’s brilliant; hire her, you guys), we decided to focus on telling the agency’s story in a linear narrative punctuated with eye-catching graphics. And color. Lots of color.

Say what you will about the one-page website. Some call it lazy web design, but sometimes the compact format of a long-scroll site is the perfect frame for telling a story in a straight line. On a personal level, I think it puts the emphasis on delivering quality content, especially when there is no other task for the user to perform except to read and scroll.
