Let's get one thing straight, we didn't invent it. We're not that smart. But we
did read about it in Coudal.com and thought
it'd be a nifty idea to do an Exquisite Corpse using Photoshop.
It's pretty simple: we match 2 designers who face off over the course of a few days and produce a collaborative image in Photoshop. One person sends the other a lo-res, 800x600 jpeg created in Photoshop. Each person adds a new layer in turn, always borrowing an element from the previous layer. Whatever this element is - visual or narrative - it's strictly up to our two players to figure out. The game is played out after 10 layers, or "plays." We try not to spend more than 20 minutes on each volley, just to keep things fresh and loose. Sometimes we're irreverent, sometimes we just make goofy design decisions, and sometimes we actually produce something worthwhile. Who cares? We don't, we just wanna play. So grab a bucket of beef jerky, kick back, and watch the pixels fly. ......................... Would you like to play or be a guest commentator? Drop us a line and we'll sign you up for the next games. |
