Genetech Social Media Integration
Social media has become a vital and necessary part of a website's marketing strategy. Integrating social interaction into an existing website like bioresearch giant Genentech poses its own sets of challenges, and the biggest hurdle was education. We needed to win the client over by legitimizing the value of social media, and dispelling their notion that social networks are limited to Facebook and YouTube. Imagine how easy it would be for scientists to collaborate on a project, no matter where their geographic location is, via Genentech's own website.
Without redesigning the current website, I worked together with a UX team to merge LinkedIn profiles, Slideshare presentations, published documents, and related events into a cohesive experience that encourages participation and collaboration.
